The juxtapositions of geography and buildings that New York City has are crazy! There are skyscrapers surrounding parks, pre-war buildings right next to modern buildings, and just above West 190th Street there is a Medieval looking park and museum that creates an atmosphere that is straight out of a Disney fairytale. This area is the Cloisters and Fort Tryon Park and it made for a perfect backdrop for Jessica & Enrique’s wedding. Jessica and Enrique are a super sweet couple that live in Virginia and planned their whole wedding via phone calls and emails and by making the 4 hour drive to the city every weekend the past couple of months. All of their effort paid off as the wedding was beautiful and had a lot of great details. We met them at the Carlton hotel and they both left to the New Leaf Cafe in Fort Tryon park by way of retro checkered cabs! Once we got to the park we were so excited to shoot some portraits with the giant trees and panoramic views we saw! During the ceremony it rained almost the entire time but then the rain stopped immediately after! The sound of the rain on the tent during the readings and vows was a perfect soundtrack. Once the reception got going and the music started playing it was obvious that these people love to party! Everyone from the young children to the grandparents were on the dance floor sweating to the great jams. We had a great time!
